Espresso/cappuccino machines.  The start came in the 1990's with Saeco's entry into the U.S. market.  Now there seems to be an explosion of manufacturers introducing pod, automatic and super automatic espresso/cappuccino machines for the home.  The NY Times recently gave a run-down of the players and their machines.
